Nine...

Recently the CDC issued new "Technical Instructions for the Screening of Immigrants" that sadly has affected the travel/union wait time for some of our allied WACAP Ethiopia families. Luckily our Daniel is too young to be impacted by this rule. However, school age children even with a finalized ET adoption are being delayed from entering the US because they have tested positive for exposure to Tuberculosis.

They may have an infectious disease. They are from a developing country (read as a euphemism for "poor"). They are orphaned children. The following is said with dramatic sarcasm: Clearly they are a dangerous threat that should be stopped at the border! Let's keep them from entering the US! Let's make struggling foreign democracies pay for a course of costly drug treatments probably purchased and imported from US manufacturers! Oh yeah, and let's make the full course of treatment be six months!

Huh?

Read Coffeedad's letter. You'll be pissed too.
